Mother’s condition scarier.
We had suspected that she had the disease for quite awhile before we heard the words from a medical professional, but hearing them actually talk about “end stage Alzheimer’s Disease” was chilling.I guess we were thinking that if it was “just dementia” it could be caused by any number of things—drug interactions, poor nutrition, a vitamin deficiency, dehydration . . .and might be reversible. with her and everything would be okay. But Alzheimer’s Disease--there is no cure for that. Being a caregiver to an Alzheimer’s patient is a long-term job. It carries with it anxiety not only for your loved one’s condition, but also, if you are caring for a relative, for your own health. Plus, if the diagnosis is dementia, there always seems to be a nagging question about whether or not it is Alzheimer’s Disease. We decided to include this section because Alzheimers is the form of dementia caregiving that we are most familiar with. We hope you can find Alzheimer’s information that will help you as you care for your loved one. More Alzheimer's Information:
